Community Based Projects

Sequoia develops and operates renewable energy projects in central North America from a base in Manitoba, Canada. Our primary region of focus (Western Canada and the upper mid-western United States) contains some of North America’s best renewable energy wind resources. The heartland of North America also has a deep history of strong rural communities, and is home to a vibrant base of community-focused investment capital. These are all key to fuel a renewable energy industry in the center of North America – the heartland is the home base for Sequoia developments.

Sequoia has erected several meteorological towers in a series of locations and has assembled a significant compilation of wind data from these facilities. Land assembly with supportive landowners, transmission & interconnection studies, and best practice environmental impact assessment accompany the conversion of this data to active renewable wind projects.

St. Léon

Synopsis:
The project is nearing completion as one of the Canada’s largest windfarms, a 99 MW installation near St. Leon, Manitoba. Sequoia was the initiator and co-developer (within Bison Wind Inc.) of the St. Leon Wind Energy Project.

Synopsis:
The Project will be located within an approximate 57,550 acre Project Site located entirely on private land approximately 100 km southwest of Winnipeg in southern Manitoba. This 99-Megawatt (MW) net capacity wind-powered electricity-generation facility will be located on an agriculture-dominated landscape.

Dacotah

Synopsis:
The Project will be located within an approximately 25,238 acre development area located entirely on private land approximately 16 km west of Winnipeg, near the town of Elie in the Rural Municipality of Cartier, in southern Manitoba. This project will be located on an agriculture-dominated landscape.

The project will be located within approximately 51,000 acre development area located entirely on private land approximately 90 km south of Winnipeg, near the town of Rosenfeld in the Rural Municipalities of Rhineland, Morris and Montcalm, in southern Manitoba. This project will be located on an agriculture-dominated landscape.
