About Renewable Energy
Diversified Energy
A good piece of advice has always been to “diversify” to protect your future. A farmer protects his farm income against falling wheat prices when he also plants canola. An investor protects her retirement funds when she includes Canadian and American investments in her portfolio.
Diversifying is also a good strategy for tomorrow’s energy portfolio. At a time when we know climate change is heralding less water, more wind and more sun, we need to look at our energy through a new lens. The balance of energy sources tomorrow is changing and creating new opportunities.
Renewable energy developers know that wind and solar power will never replace large-scale hydro or all carbon-sourced energy, but in combination with these traditional energy sources, they will contribute to stabilizing the power system while simultaneously cutting harmful emissions.
This is much more than a good idea. With the balance of energy sources changing all around us, this vision creates long-term sustainability and an energy future we can count on.
